The Advisory Council offers information, guidance, advice, and support to DAAA staff on services for older adults in Dallas County. The Council serves as a critical link between the agency and the community. It ensures the intent and objectives of the Older American’s Act, which is the enabling legislation for the agency, are met. The Chair of the Advisory Council is a member of the Community Council of Greater Dallas Board of Directors and is appointed by the Board Chair. Membership includes at least 15 individuals representing services, minorities, local elected officials, health care providers, nutrition service providers, and the general public. Members are appointed for three-year terms. Meetings are held five times a year on the third Thursday in February, April, June, September, and November. Click here for more information.
