Our Story
In the early 1940s, during a time of global uncertainty and local need, a group of civic leaders in Dallas County came together with a shared purpose: to better coordinate social services and support the well-being of their community. What began as a collaborative effort to address urgent challenges during World War II became the foundation of what is now the Community Council of Greater Dallas.

Over the decades, CCGD has evolved alongside the community it serves. From its roots as an incubator and convener of social service agencies, the organization has grown into a leader in connecting individuals to critical resources, advancing economic mobilit, and improving quality of life for the thousands across Dallas County.
Who We Are Today
Today, the Community Council of Greater Dallas serves as a trusted leader, convener, and connector within the region's social service ecosystem. We work at the intersection of people and resources, ensuring individuals and families can access the support they need to move forward.

Our approach is both direct and collaborative. We provide essential services, guide individuals through complex systems, and partner with organizations across sectors to create stronger, more coordinated solutions. By aligning efforts and focusing on outcomes, we help build pathways toward stability, independence, and long-term success.

The impact of our work is measured not only in numbers but in lives changed. Each connection made, each service delivered, and each opportunity created represents a step toward a stronger community.
