Community Services BLOCK GRANT

Moving families forward, leaving poverty behind.
Funding supports projects that lessen poverty in communities. While addressing the needs of low-income individuals. We strive to provide services and activities that address employment, education and better use of available income, housing, nutrition, emergency services, and/or health.
Three Major Poverty Alleviation Goals
- Individuals and families are stable and achieve economic security
- People live healthy lives with economic opportunity to increase self-sufficiency
- People are engaged and active in building opportunities in community-ownership and pride in their communities.

- Job Skills Training/Resume Development
- Education Assistance
- Case Management
- Financial Literacy Education
- Soft Skills Training
Eligibility Determination
- Applicants must be a Dallas County Resident
- Must meet income guidelines according to the Federal Income Guidelines (please reference table below)
- Applicants will be required to provide the following documents:
- Social Security Card
- Utility Bill
- Full Rental Lease
- Benefits Support Letter such as food stamps, SSI
- Pay Stubs for last 30 days
- Additional documentation may be requested
