• get involved

Community support enables the Community Council of Greater Dallas to build a stronger North Texas through life-changing services and programs for the most vulnerable North Texans. Whether through a financial investment, attending an event, volunteering your time and talent, or even shopping, you can make a transformational difference in the lives of many individuals, families, and older adults and caregivers.

  • volunteer opportunities

Volunteers contribute to life-changing experiences and real impact for those they serve at Community Council. As a volunteer, you play a key role in moving individuals and families from surviving to thriving. Below are a few ways you can help.
*Some volunteer opportunities have an age limit and/or require a Criminal Background Check.
For more information or questions about volunteering, please contact Rebecca A. Rhule, CFRE, Senior Director of Advancement, at 214.871.5065 x272 or rrhule@ccadvance.org.

    Individual Opportunities

Individual volunteers can work directly with clients or behind the scenes. Opportunities range from mentoring, leading health and wellness workshops, helping clients with resume writing, interview practice, and job searches to fundraising and event planning.

    Group or Corporate Opportunities

Volunteer activities for groups are carefully crafted to create meaningful opportunities for both clients and volunteers. We work to accommodate your group size, availability, and interests.

  • holiday volunteer opportunities

Community Council of Greater Dallas has a goal to bring Christmas to the children of clients and homebound older adults in our Economic Mobility and Dallas Area Agency on Aging programs. You can help a family in need or a homebound older adult celebrate the holidays.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Rebecca Rhule at rrhule@ccadvance.org or 214.871.5065 x272.

Be Santa for a child or homebound older adult

Be Santa! Gift Project allows you to help the children and homebound seniors of our Economic Mobility and Dallas Area Agency on Aging programs experience the joy of opening presents on Christmas Day.

We need YOU to adopt our 34 children and 44 homebound seniors. You will receive a wish list of 3 items with at least 1 need and 1 want for each child or older adult. Examples include shoes and a bike or basketball or slippers and lotion. Your list will contain the age, gender, and clothing sizes. There is no minimum or maximum spending limit.

New, unwrapped gifts must be delivered by Wednesday, December 15 to the Community Council of Greater Dallas office during weekday office hours of 8:30am-5:00pm so we can distribute on Friday.

If you'd like to Be Santa!, please contact Rebecca Rhule by email or call 214.871.5065 x272 and share how many children or seniors you would like to adopt and you will receive the adoption gift tags.

Be Santa! and help spread the magic of Christmas.
